I have always called Arkansas my home. Arkansas is a beautiful state and you can experience many amazing things that God has created. One of those things is severe weather. After last week I can honestly say that my ability to read and understand weather radar has improved a great deal. I was glued to the television tracking the storms and watching the sky. My mind was consumed with weather. When the storm came close Alan and I stuffed our kids into the laundry room and strongly warned them of the danger that was near. I couldn't help but notice that my children were very concerned for our family and friends that were spread all around the state. They had an urgency in their heart for the safety and lives for those around them.

That same urgency is what we need for the lost people in our communities, our states, our country, and our world. We need to warn others that they are dead in their sins and on a path that leads them to destruction! Over time people can become numb to the severe weather warnings that are being broadcast via television or radio. People run out on their porches and look in the direction that the storm is coming from. They hop in their trucks and go chasing after this massive whirlwind of death for a thrill. Some have forgotten about the dangerous position that their in. Others may know of the dangerous place that they are in, but never think it would ever cause them death. (Romans 1:32) Sadly, people often view their sins the same way they view storms. They don't take Jesus' warning seriously.

Oh Christian! You have been rescued from the condemnation of your sinful nature.(Romans 8) You understand the danger of sin. You understand that sin leads to death.(Romans 6:20-23) You understand that you once were objects of wrath BUT GOD has placed you in the storm shelter of the cross through his grace in which you have been saved. (Ephesians 2: 1-6; Titus 3:3-7) I pray that we aren't numb to Jesus' command for us to go into all the world and make disciples and teach them to be obedient to Him. (Matt 28:18-20) We are not to be ashamed of the gospel, because through the gospel we ourselves were saved. (Romans 1:16; 2 Timothy 1:8-9)
