TCAM Community blog about life experiences in a Biblical context.
I was speechless when Alan Ray told me that he had bought me a little Troy-Bilt tiller for me to use in my garden. You see I love to play in the dirt. It smells good and it feels good on my bare feet. Its very therapeutic to me.
Everyone knows that the ground you plant your seeds in is very important when it comes to gardening. But did you know that Jesus uses gardening to explain how people respond to the gospel?
In Matthew 13:3-9 He talks about four different types of ground. The seed that fell on the wayside was snatched up by birds. The seed that fell on the stony ground was not able to take root and it dried up and died. Other seeds fell among the thorns and they were choked out. Finally, he mentions seed that fell on good ground and it produced a crop.
Praise be to God that he can plow up our stony hearts and make them new so we can produce a crop that pleases Him!!
So as you get out all your garden tools this Spring and begin to dig in the dirt take the time and stop and think about what kind of ground you are.
